The purpose and main tasks of the study. On the example of Hetman capital-Baturyn, to find out the peculiarities of the formation and development of early modern cities of Ukraine in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, to determine the time of construction and localization of fortification lines, towers and gates of the city's central city - fortifications, stone and wooden temples of Baturin, to make their mapping; discover and explore the remains of the first palace complex K. Razumovsky; to find out the social composition of the city population in the XVII - XVIII centuries. Based on the results of the study, update the idea of ​​the history and socio-topographical structure of early modern cities of Ukraine. Implementation of this project allowed to systematize and generalize the obtained results, to find out the role and significance of early modern cities in the processes of formation and development. Ukrainian statehood, which is very relevant at the present stage of the development of historical science. Equally relevant today is the expansion of the network of museum and exhibition institutions of the National Historical and Cultural Reserve "Hetman's Capital", which will increase the tourist flows to Baturyn and will contribute to a significant increase in the number of jobs.
