The basic design and technical and economic characteristics of the elements of the additional equipment are determined on the basis of requirements for the purpose, dimensions and dimensions of small arms samples, lifetime, materials used in the design, operating conditions, maintenance and storage. The results of the research work can be used in the development and production of samples of additional equipment of small arms, as well as when implemented in the practical activities of units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in order to optimize the process of selecting samples of additional equipment for small arms. As a result of the conducted researches, ways of modernization of existing weapons samples were substantiated in terms of equipping them with additional equipment, which allows to optimize the process of selecting and conducting work on the development, manufacture and testing of this equipment for handguns.
