Calculations of the scheme with helium content in raw natural gas from 0.045 to 0.36% (vol.) were carried out. It was determined that the share of liquefied gas, which is used to cool the column dehumidifier, is from 0.6 to 2.5% of the total NG stream, comes from the main gas pipeline. A technology has been developed to extract helium concentrate at GDS using only internal cooling in the throttle cycle, which makes it possible to produce raw helium with a concentration of 60-64% with an almost 100% recovery rate from raw natural gas with helium content up to 0.3% and nitrogen content up to 10% and practically with the expenses of additional external energy only for gas preparation. The optimal pressure range for the extraction of helium in a steam column is 2 ... 2.4 MPa. Helium concentrate can be processed into a commercial product on site or transported for further processing to clean the concentrate from impurities to produce technically pure helium.
