Significant differences in rates of preexisting cardio-vascular diseases, diabetes insipidus, renal dysfunction, as well as systemic inflammation were determined according to the functional type of heart failure in patients diagnosed with atrial fibrillation for the first time. For the first time clinico-functional peculiarities and associated conditions were determined in patients with newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation depending on the degree of manifestation of symptoms of arrhythmia. It was illustrated that the probability of the relapse among patients diagnosed as having the episode of newly diagnosed AF which was terminated with renewal of sinus rhythm is 50.0 % during 6 months of observation of patients.
