Their significance as an objective criterion in early diagnostics is shown, including cases of asymptomatic course, as well as in assessment effectiveness of treatment for inflammation of the auditory tube in the childhood age. On the basis of changes in the local immunity indicators the effectiveness of tonsillectomy and tonsillotomy in chronic tonsillitis and hypertrophy of palatine tonsils is determined. On the basis of the obtained data, practical recommendations were developed on indications for surgical or conservative treatment and on choice of a type of the operative procedure in different pathologies of the palatine tonsils. Almost in all patients with chronic hypertrophic tonsillitis the areas of connective tissue proliferation with the presence of massive fibrous structures, infiltration and numerous fibroblasts were found. At the same time in these patients the surface epithelium was detected to be infiltrated with a large number of lymphocytes, neutrophiles and macrophages creating lympho-epithelial symbiosis. Thus, comparative morphological and electron microscopic studies of tonsils in patients with chronic tonsillitis and chronic hypertrophic tonsillitis showed that in such conditions expressed hypertrophy of the epithelium of crypts and lymphoid follicles, connective tissue proliferation in the lymphoid tissue and progressed vascular sclerosis are present. Obtained data support the existence of certain dynamics of structural changes in the paletile tonsils in their hypertrophy and in chronic tonsillitis.
