Samples of ferrite/martensitic (Eurofer and Rusfer (Cr-9.7% Fe base) and austenitic (Cr18Ni10Ti) steels were covered with thin (about 3 μm) tungsten coatings and irradiated with powerful plasma streams. The possibility of doping the surfaces of stainless steels with tungsten is demonstrated. The tungsten phase has been identified along with some Fe phase lines on treated surfaces. The presence of the phase alfa-Fe created favorable conditions for penetration of tungsten into a melting layer. The surface morphology is changing mainly due to the formation of a melting layer. The proposed concept of a thermonuclear fusion nuclear hybrid in the NSC KIPT is aimed at the safe combustion of spent fuel transuranium and energy production on an industrial scale. Using the MCNPX numerical code, calculations were made for the reuse of nuclear fuel. This showed that the reactor with prepared secondary fuel has almost the same reactivity as the primary. This gives the possibility of more complete burning of transuranium of spent nuclear fuel of light-hydrogen reactors. The first experiments on the generation of fast ions by means of high-frequency fields were carried out at the Uragan-2M stellarator.
