It is find that the damage of tungsten has shock wave and fatigue-thermal character. In the irradiated layer there are cracks that extend both parallel to the irradiated surface and at an angle to it. The motion of the melt is observed after irradiation of surfaces with plasma fluxes with a density of energy that exceeds the melting threshold of the material. The influence of capillary effects on the irradiated surface leads to the corrugation of the re-solidified surface layer, and also significantly suppresses the ejection of droplets of molten material from irradiated surfaces after a large amount (over 200 impulses) of plasma exposures.
