Research methods - generalization and analysis of results, methods of mathematical statistics, calculations using standard methods. As a result of the work, the technical documentation for the mining of 881 lavas of the S8n formation of the Zapadno-Donbasskaya mine at the PSS “TernivskеMineGroup” Private Joint-stock Company "DTEK Pavlogradugol" was analyzed. The calculation of the expected methane release within the excavation site, the required efficiency of degassing of the excavation site, the parameters and mode of degassing of the roof of the wells was made. Developed "Measures for the management of the degassing system of the excavation section 881 of the lava of the S8n stratum during fires in the mine workings." The “Project of degassing 881 lavas of the S8n stratum of the Zapadno-Donbasskaya mine” was developed by the PSS “TernivskеMineGroup” Private Joint-stock Company "DTEK Pavlogradugol".
