The aim of the work is to conduct a study of methane emission sources and develop recommendations for ensuring gas safety when releasing the outgoing air stream from the preparatory face of the eastern intermediate drift to the fan of the local airing of the eastern ventilation slope installed on the eastern main drift of the mine "Stepova". Research methods - generalization and analysis of results, methods of mathematical statistics, calculations by standard methods. As a result of the work, the technical documentation for the ventilation of the deadlock workings of the PSS mine "Stepova" was analyzed. "Recommendations for ensuring gas safety of work on the construction of a dead end of the eastern ventilation slope of the horizon of 490 m with the release of fresh air entering its airing, the outgoing air stream from the impasse of the eastern intermediate drift of the horizon 490 m" are developed. The release of the outgoing ventilation air stream from the impassable development of the eastern intermediate drift is coordinated to the horizon of 490 m in a fresh stream of air entering the ventilation of the dead-end development of the eastern ventilation slope of the horizon of 490 m, provided that the developed recommendations for ensuring gas safety have been fulfilled.
