The purpose of the work is to conduct a study of the sources of methane emission and to develop recommendations for ensuring gas safety during mining at the PSS “"Mine Office of the name GeroivKosmosu”. Research methods - generalization and analysis of results, methods of mathematical statistics, calculations using standard methods. As a result of the work, the technical documentation on the ventilation of the blind workings and the cleansing sections of the PSS “"Mine Office of the name GeroivKosmosu” was analyzed. Developed "Recommendations for ensuring dust and gas safety when conducting dead-end production of 1121 side drifts when releasing into the fresh stream of air entering its airing, outgoing air vents from dead-end workings 955 of side drifts and 1121 prefabricated drift and outgoing air streams from the excavation section 983 of lava layer C9 ". The placement of local ventilation fans of a dead-end production of 1121 side drifts in 1 eastern main drift of the horizon of 350 m, which takes the outgoing air vent of the east wing of the mine, was agreed, subject to the implementation of the developed recommendations for gas safety. The results of the implementation of the development - the application of the developed recommendations helped to ensure gas safety in mining, which is of great socio-economic and environmental importance.
