The purpose of the work is to research and develop tools for building a model for assessing the level of energy security of an enterprise, determining its characteristics and adequacy. Methods of research: dialectical method, system approach, generalization, classification, systematization, mathematical modeling.Theoretical and practical results of research work are the development of theoretical, methodological and applied principles of energy safety management of mechanical engineering enterprises. The theoretical and practical aspects of assessing the level of energy security of an enterprise with consideration of uncertainty factors related to the peculiarities of functioning of enterprises in modern market conditions have been developed, which allows to calculate the integral index of energy security of the enterprise on the basis of the corresponding system of groups of factors distributed at obscure levels. Based on the analytical data, the necessity of optimizing the energy security of industrial enterprises in the conditions of use of modern methods and principles is substantiated. The estimation of the level of energy security of the enterprise is proposed, which, in contrast to the existing, supplemented and adapted to the specifics of machine-building enterprises, by the phased implementation of actions, the implementation of which makes it possible to identify the components and factors of energy security, priority for the investigated enterprise, and to differentiate the levels of energy security.
