Subject of research - theoretical, methodological, methodic and practical aspects of risk assessment in small business. The purpose of the research work is the further development of methodological principles and the development of methodic recommendations for the assessment of the risks of the small business entities. Methods of research - system and comparative analysis, synthesis, induction and deduction, a complex of economic-statistical and mathematical methods of analysis, the method of analogy, and others. In the process of the research the analysis of the methodological principles of risk management of the business entities was conducted; scientific approaches to the definition of the concepts of "risk" and "entrepreneurial risk" are worked out; the classification of business risks was carried out, the list of methods for their evaluation was substantiated; formed the list of risks of small business and determined sources of their origin; the classification of risks of small business entities was carried out; the criteria for assigning small business entities to economic entities with a high, medium and small degree of risk are determined; the results of research of problems, prospects and risks of development of national small business are presented; the methodical recommendations for assessing the risks of the small business entities in modern market conditions have been developed. The main results of the research are planned to be implemented in the activity of LLC "Avantage-Consult". Scientific and methodical products on the theme of research work will be implemented in the educational process of the KNUTE in the teaching of disciplines "Strategic Management", "Strategic Management of the Enterprise" and "Risk Management". Separate results of the research will be used in doctoral and master's theses of performers.
