The subject of research is the marine environment of the Black Sea within the maritime economic zone of Ukraine. In 2017, 7 expeditions were carried out in the Black Sea (58 monitoring stations). The purpose of the research: assessment of the state and trends of its changes to determine the main priority measures to reduce the human impact on the marine environment. According to monitoring observations, the current state of the hydrochemical regime and the eutrophication of waters is provided. Calculations of the index of trophy of sea waters of the Gulf of Odessa and the Danube coast have been made. The level of contamination of various objects of the marine environment (water, agriculture, hydrobionts) with priority toxic substances has been determined. In cooperation with Odessa National University named after. І.І. Mechnikov performed a selection of different species of molluscs and fish and their analysis on the content of toxic metals, organochlorine pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls. The comparative estimation of the actual level of pollution with the ecological standards of the quality of the marine environment has been carried out.
