The necessity and urgency of carrying out the research is due to the recommendations of the latest edition of the Black Sea Cross-Border Diagnostic Analysis (TDA; GEF / UNDP BSERP, 2007) regarding increasing the area of marine protected natural areas, the updated BSSAP Strategic Plan, the requirements of the strategy for the creation of a European Network of Marine Protected Areas (ECMEN, Sofia, 1995), in accordance with the EU Maritime Strategy Framework Directive (2008/56 / EC). The purpose of the GDR was: - development of methodological recommendations for assessing the status indicators of the Black Sea fish populations in accordance with the EU Maritime Strategy Framework Directive (2008/56 / EC); - basic assessment of the state of the botanical reserve of the national value "Filloforne field of Zernov" and preparation of the Project of the system of permanent monitoring of ecosystems of the reserve; - development of recommendations for expanding the territory of the nature reserve fund in the Black Sea area; - Preparation of recommendations for the creation of a representative network of marine protected areas in the Southern Ocean, in particular at the Weddell Sea. The objects of the study are the ichthyofauna of the Black Sea and the nature protection areas of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the Southern Ocean, in particular at the Waddell Sea. The subject of the study is indicators, indicators, criteria and descriptors on the status of the Black Sea ichthyofauna and indicators of the state of the ecosystems of the seas and oceans.
