The activity of military sanatoriums from their establishment in 1920 to this day is presented. The attention is focused on the contemporary state of financing and the development of Ministry of Defence of Ukraine sanatoriums equipment and the sanatoria treatment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemen, which is an important component of medical care. It was proved that military service is a specific socially dangerous area of human activity. The state health care of this category of citizens is required because of the specificity of a military service. The rational use of environmental, physical, medical factors achieved such results in many chronic diseases of patients. . The activity of military sanatoriums enables to achieve high efficiency in maintaining and restoring health of Ukrainian servicemen and members of their families, military veterans and the invalids.
