As a result of the analysis features of the genetic structure of populations and differences in individual genetic loci were revealed. The lowest values of indicators characterizing the genetic polymorphism of U. pumila, both in microsatellite loci and TBP markers, are characteristic of trees that grow in more favorable conditions (vacant lot) compared to environmentally loaded ones. The observed heterozygosity was lower than expected due to an excess of homozygous genotypes. In general, it was found that, for most of the studied U. pumila loci in the Dnieper region, there is a relatively low level of genetic variation. U. suberosa found alleles that were absent in U. pumila. The U. suberosa trees for all studied markers turned out to be monomorphic. As a result of cytogenetic studies, it was found that the populations of the U. pumila and U. suberosa trees differ in terms of embryonic death and seed viability. Two of the three studied U. pumila populations were characterized by low rates of embryonic death of seedsand high seed viability index. The low level of chromosomal rearrangements in vegetative meristems also indicates genetic homeostasis and the absence of hybridization in U. pumila. U. suberosa trees had high rates of embryonic death of seeds and low seed viability indices. Seed reproduction of the population of this species is significantly limited.
