The object of the research serves a set of theoretical, methodological and applied aspects of the formation of a model of decentralization of power. The subject of the study is the question of forming a model for decentralization of power in Ukraine and developing ways to improve it. The purpose of the study is to study theoretical, methodological and practical issues concerning the aspects of forming a model of decentralization of power in Ukraine, analysis of problems and development of ways to improve it. To achieve the goal, the following tasks were solved: - characterize the legal principles of decentralization and carry out a systematic analysis of the legislative framework on the chosen topic of research; - To formulate and scientifically substantiate the goals of decentralization; - to find out the essence of the organizational and functional structure of decentralization and to reveal the mechanisms of interaction between central, regional authorities and local self-government bodies; - to assess the current state of decentralization in view of the difficult internal political situation in Ukraine; - analyze problems, and develop ways to improve decentralization. The methodology of the study includes a set of general scientific and special political science methods. The main method of studying the issue is a system analysis that allows for the presentation of the process of reforming public administration in the form of system integrity, where each stage of the reform performs certain functions and tasks. An institutional approach is also of particular importance, since it is the development and improvement of institutions of public administration that is an important direction in reforming public administration.
