The purpose of the work is to develop a technology for manufacturing and modification of polymeric materials with a controlled service life on the basis of thermoplastic starch. Research methods. Studies on the modification of polymer materials and the evaluation of their properties are made using the following modern methods of research: optical microscopy; measurement of water absorption; determination of tensile strength and tensile elongation at break; image analysis method. Modified composite materials with a controlled service life were obtained by modifying thermoplastic starch with citric acid, polyvinyl alcohol, lingosulfanate and epoxidized soybean oil. It has been established that modification of polymeric compositions based on thermoplastic starch allows to improve the formulation of the initial components and to overcome the main disadvantages of thermoplastic starch, and thus, to obtain a new improved polymer material with a controlled service life and to propose variants of its application.
