Research subject: material sources of Ukrainian and Lithuanian folk textile and instruments for them manufacture, which are in Western Ukrainian and Lithuanian museums. The work aim: to determine universal and unique parameters Western Ukrainian and Lithuanian ethnographic textile`s ornamentation of the XIX — the first half of the XX centuries. Research methods: historical study, photofixation of artifacts, classification, systematization, integrated art studies and comparative analysis, methods of analogies, generalization, modeling, reconstruction, theoretical reflection. The novelty: for the first time the technical, artistic and stylistic parameters of motifs and elements in folk textile ornamentation for interior and clothing made by weaving, embroidery, knitting, sprang, print, as well as other types of decorative and applied art of Ukrainians and Lithuanians are studied.
