The content of the cartographic collections, especially of Shevchenko Scientific Society in Lviv and Stefan Kozma, the Secretary of the of Lviv University Senate, was investigated. The study of private collections (Yu. Medvets'kyi, Derkach family) was conducted, in particular the structure and volumes, linguistic composition, personal interests of their owners, which allowed to trace for a considerable chronological period the sociocultural role of the book, the importance and development of collecting and bibliography. The preparation of “The History of Librarianship in Galicia (late XII century - 1939)” bibliographical index, which represents the source-base of the development of Galicia's library business until 1939 was continued. In order to improve the preservation of publications from bibliographic collections, their status and storage conditions were monitored by the MIKROKLIMAT program. Qualimetric studies of rare documents were carried out, the state of conservation of cartographic editions from the collection of the Anton Petrushevich’ Museum was performed, and the state of conservation of graphic works from the collection of A. Petrushevich was started. The methods of restoration of editions with microbiological destruction from private collections have been worked out.
