The purpose of the study: introduction to the social sphere, educational process, industry the results of research of opportunities of energy and resource saving in the foundry industry by improving tool life, improvement of manufacturing techniques of casting molds, cleaning and heat treatment of the castings, and the use of computer-aided design techniques. Research methods: microanalysis, standard methods of studying the technological properties of molding mixtures, regression analysis method. Theoretical and practical results: industrial testing and implementation of the results of formula compositions of sand-bentonite mixtures for forming raw on automatic lines with the use of resource-saving molding materials in the educational process; recommendations for the development of database architecture for the project of the software complex accounting of charge materials foundry; calculated parameters that can characterize the effectiveness of the production system of castings in the foundry of the enterprise; the technology of quenching controlled water-air cooling of massive steel products with self-discharge is developed; the technical indicators affecting the quality of cleaning of castings are considered; the scheme of the technological process of obtaining gray cast iron with a plate form of graphite and a bainite structure is developed. The novelty lies in the systematic analysis of the possibility of reducing energy and resource costs in the production of castings by improving processes and equipment.
