The object of the current researches is a rare phytocoenofund of Ukraine. The main goal of the work is to collect and summarize information about the current state of rare, endangered species and typical natural plant communities which have to be protected with using the data of ecological-coenotical and floristic researches for: preparation of a new edition of the Green Data Book of Ukraine; keeping of National cadaster of plants, development of measures for their conservation in the natural environment. The main research method is the methodology for determining the rare phytocoenotaxonomical diversity based on the syntaxa inventory method and the matrix method of the synphytosozological evaluation of the phytocoenotical fund. Field studies were performed by classical geobotanical methods (detailed routed, marking of test sites, geobotanical releves). The current trends of vegetation changes and the assessment of the newest threats to rare phytocoenotical diversity in Ukraine have been highlighted. The results of field studies of the information's collection on the conservation status of rare phytocoenoses of the Green Data Book of Ukraine on 42 model objects of the nature reserve fund and 36 model objects outside are presented. It is found that certain groups are transformed due to natural and anthropic factors. The presence of rare phytocoenoses in the territories of biosphere and nature reserves and national nature parks has been evaluated and an appropriate supplement to the Green Data Book of Ukraine has been prepared. The modern system of regimes of conservation of rare phytocoenotical diversity is analyzed and methodical recommendations on the modes of its conservation are given. A new version of the Rules on the Green Data Book of Ukraine has been prepared in the context of its second edition. According to the developed Rules, the scheme of the description of rare phytocoenosis of the Green Paper of Ukraine has been improved.
