Investigation of synergetic effects under bulk and surface damage of thermonuclear reactor materials: ion beam + powerful plasma flows. popup.stage_title Head Manuilenko Oleg V., Кандидат фізико-математичних наукPavlii Kostiantyn V., Кандидат фізико-математичних наук Registration Date 13-12-2019 Organization National Science Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology" popup.description2 The aim of the project is to create an experimental complex (target chamber) for irradiation of structural (metal, ceramic) materials used (being developed) in nuclear/thermonuclear power and modern electronics, as well as to study cooperative effects for bulk and surface damages of thermonuclear construction materials. This complex should provide a temperature regime of irradiation in the range of 20 - 700 0С and radiation doses up to 10 - 30 dpa. During irradiation, the following parameters should be measured in situ: helium ion beam current and beam pulse shape, sample temperature, and in the course of irradiation, the following parameters should be calculated and monitored: irradiation dose, helium deposition profiles and sample thickness damage. Using accelerated charge particles, it is possible to simulate not only the radiation effect of irradiation on structural materials but also the accumulation of helium for all types of energy reactors. The processes of damage of irradiated nuclear materials, helium deposition in the irradiation and ionization process in irradiated samples of UO2, PuO2, UPuO2, UC, UPuC, UN, UPuN and TiO2, Al2O3, TiC, TiN, steel and tungsten were investigated numerically. The results of theoretical studies were analyzed and samples were selected for irradiation on a linear helium ions accelerator. A unit for the measurement of surface electrical resistance of ceramic materials under a beam of helium ions in the temperature range 20 - 700 0C was designed. Methods and equipment for irradiation of steel and tungsten samples on a linear helium ions accelerator at temperatures of 20 - 700 0С, energies of 0.12 - 4 MeV, doses up to 10 - 30 dpa are developed.
