The purpose of the work is to summarize the existing views of scientists on the theory and practice of organizing entrepreneurship and infrastructure in rural areas. The methodological basis is the position of regional economics, institutionalism and economic theory. The study was conducted using a systematic approach, statistical and monographic analysis and logical-heuristic methods. The implementation of sustainable rural development models in Ukraine should be based on the combined efforts of government, socially responsible businesses and the rural population. The necessity to improve the system of functional and managerial environment, which will ensure the effectiveness of industrial relations between market agents, minimize the appearance of inefficient institutions and reduce the likelihood of institutional traps in the future. Socio-economic development of rural territories should be based on the use of all its assets: agricultural production, which creates products for life support; intangible values: production of ecological and recreational services with preserved original landscapes and cultural heritage, which is a prerequisite for the multifunctionality of rural development; the formation, conservation and development of human capital as a major factor in the economic growth of regions or the country as a whole. A methodology for determining the investment susceptibility of the agrarian sector (agriculture and rural territories) has been developed, as well as the identification of entities initiating, financing, constructing and maintaining infrastructure facilities in rural areas.
