Microstructure and elemental composition of surface and protective layers, microhardness of structural components, influence of coating type on tribological properties of cast iron under conditions of abrasive wear and friction of "metal-by-metal" are analyzed. The results are summarized. Pulse-plasma treatment modes using electrothermal axial plasma accelerator are proposed. The work was performed using optical microscopy and electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, microhardness measurement, «Three-body abrasion abrasion» testing and metal-to-metal friction testing according to the «Pin-on-Disc» scheme.
