Particular attention is paid to influenza viruses of the particularly dangerous H5 and H7 subtypes, their role in outbreaks of domestic birds, and the role of wild birds in the spread of these pathogens. According to the results of field expeditions, samples of biological material from 354 wild birds of 12 species were collected in the Kherson region for further study of orthomyxovirus virus-bearing.The biological properties of 21 archival orthomyxovirus H1, H2, H7 and H9 subtypes that were isolated from wild birds in 2010-2016 were performed, viruses were classified for the corresponding hemagglutinin subtypes in HIT, and contamination by bacterial infectious agents was excluded. Based on the sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of archival orthomyxoviruses stored in the NSC IECVM collection, information on the origin and phylogenetic relationships of Ukrainian orthomyxoviruses of subtype H7 has been obtained.Avian influenza viruses of H7 subtype isolated from wild ducks in 2011 and 2014 were found to be low pathogenic and belong to the Eurasian virus group. The 2011 haemagglutinin viruses are related to each other and to viruses of this subtype that are circulating among wild and domestic birds in European countries, and the virus isolated in 2014 is related to Asian viruses. As part of research in 2019, comparative studies of different methods of sequencing of orthomyxoviruses have been initiated and the optimal methods of RNA transport for sequencing have been determined. In addition, within the framework of the research, scientific cooperation between scientists of Ukraine and Germany in the field of veterinary medicine, the study of poultry diseases, biotechnology has been established. The nucleotide sequences of all genes of Ukrainian H7 influenza viruses have been published in the GenBank international database. Product Description popup.authors Kolesnyk Olena S.
