The purpose of the work is to determine the deciding factors in metal aging of MCP of VVER-1000 reactors. Research Method is investigation of metal samples cut of MCP by direct methods and MCP base metal resource forecasting based on the data obtained. An analysis of the general principles of the methodology for predicting metal resource in MCP in long-term operation is performed. The results of the adaptation of the equipment for cutting of metal samples from the MCP of Unit#3 of the South-Ukraine NPP and production service in cutting of templates from the MCP, which was in operation for more than 200 thousand hours, are presented The technology of production of small-sized samples from the MCP metal samples for further in-depth study in the laboratory has been elaborated. The equipment for grinding of a template, cut out from MCP, the electroerosive cutting of micro-samples for research of mechanical properties and production of metallographic samples, etc. are presented.
