The purpose of the study is the development and improvement of the regulatory and technical base of the road economy on road safety issues, ensuring the bringing of the national regulatory framework to the requirements of the conditions of association of Ukraine with the European Union. The research method is harmonization of the requirements of road safety regulations by developing a national standard for the design of traffic calming means and an album of type traffic management schemes on public roads passing via settlements and on approaches to them. The relevance of the development is in the fulfilment of the requirements of paragraph 8 of Article 56 of the Association Agreement between Ukraine on the one side and the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Communities and their Member States on the other side hat was concluded in Brussels on the twenty-first of March, two thousand fourteen and ratified by the statement of the Law of Ukraine of 16.09.2014 No. 1678-VIІ, as well as the requirements of Articles 9 and 27 of the Law of Ukraine "On Road Traffic".
