Their self-association in aqueous solutions has been investigated and shown that calixarenes are able to form micellar and liposomal associates of appropriate size. The study of mixed-associates revealed a cooperative effect in reducing of the size of hybrid liposomes in the case of imidazolium calixarene and dicatione dihydropyridine.
