Attention is drawn to the analysis of discussion problems in contemporary historiography of the topic. Purpose of the research: analysis of key problems of social history of Ukraine with involvement of domestic and foreign experience, study of gender aspects of national history. The methodological basis of the research work is the general scientific principles of historical cognition - historicism, systematicity, objectivity. In the course of the research specific search, chronological, retrospective, structural-personal, prosopographic methods were used, which made it possible to consider a wide range of socio-political, socio-economic and gender issues. The theoretical and practical significance of the work carried out is that its results can be used in scientific and teaching practice. In addition, the results of the work can be useful in the preparation of lectures on various aspects of social history. The novelty of the study: is a comprehensive study of a number of problems of social history, the role of men and women in the Ukrainian society, the importance of elites in social, political and socio-economic life. The scope of the work results is that its scientific and theoretical generalizations, provisions, results and recommendations can be used in the preparation of summarizing works on the social history of Ukraine, writing textbooks, lectures on gender issues, history of women's movement in Ukraine and taken into account in practical activity of modern state and public associations in work with men's, women's and mixed organizations.
