Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  It was found that chronic lymphocytic leukemia B cells bearing on the cell surface CD150 and CD180 receptors are characterized by a high mRNA expression level of CCL3, CCL4, but a reduced mRNA expression level of IL-6, IL-10 in contrast to CD150-CD180- malignant B cells. CD150 and CD180 activation in chronic lymphocytic leukemia B cells leads to a significant decrease in mRNA expression and secretion of immunosuppressive interleukin-10 (IL-10), which is involved in the survival and proliferation of malignant B cells. Moreover, CD150 and CD180 have been found to positively regulate the expression of a key target for targeted therapy of chronic lymphocytic leukemia, the CD20 cell surface receptor, thereby serving as tools for improving the efficacy of therapy based on the use of monoclonal antibodies against CD20. The revealed association of polyamine levels with the receptors expression status that used as surrogate prognostic markers for the CLL clinical outcome indicates the involvement of polyamines in CLL pathogenesis and their determination can also serve as potential prognostic markers.
