The purpose of the study is the complex gemological physical, chemical and microscopic examination of rubies, blue sapphires, emeralds and alexandrites from the SGCU collections as well as the second edition of the training manual "Photoatlas of Inclusions in Precious Stones" development. Research methods include diagnostic gemological characteristics determination, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy and optic-microscope. Complex gemological study of rubies, blue sapphires, emeralds, and alexandrites from the SGCU collections is carried out, namely the determination of gemological characteristics, measurement of X-ray spectra, microscopic examination were fulfilled. Integrated database of diagnostic gemological physical and chemical characteristics of rubies, blue sapphires, emeralds, alexandrites from the DGCU collection was created. Training manual "Photoatlas of Inclusions in Precious Stones" was developed. The results can be used to solve a wide range of tasks of scientific gemmological examination and for improving the quality of education in gemological field.
