Some environmental aspects regarding the seismicity of the region, the disturbance of the geomagnetic field, and the possible coupling of magnetic and radon anomalies are given. Complex geophysical studies along the PANCAKE, RomUkrSeis, DOBRE-4 and DOBRE-2 profiles have provided new information on the location and characteristics of the transition zone of the East European Platform to the West European Platform and the Alpine Fold. Paleomagnetic studies have provided new definitions of the position of the East European Platform, including its southwestern part in Silurian and Devonian. Magneto-tellurium sounding and magneto-variational profiling were used to establish electrical inhomogeneities in different parts of the transition zone. The report sets out in detail a number of environmental issues that are currently relevant, such as seismic hazards, space-time perturbations of the magnetic field, the coupling of radon and magnetic anomalies.
