Section 1. Development and optimization of the sensory system. popup.stage_title Head Borkovska Lyudmyla, Registration Date 17-01-2020 Organization Institute of Semiconductor Physics popup.description2 The object of study - Ag-In-S/ZnS nanocrystals unmodified and modified with MP-SH oligonucleotides, as well as Ag-In-S and Ag-doped CdSe nanocrystals embedded in the polymer. The goal of the work is to study the optical characteristics of quantum dots modified by oligonucleotides. The methods of the investigations - photoluminescence, optical absorption, Raman scattering. In order to develop the optical affine sensing system it is necessary to determine how the photoluminescence of colloidal quantum dots (QDs) based on I-III-VI compounds and its stability (photostability) depend on the acidity of buffer solution and the attached oligonucleotides. It is found that the QDs in a slightly alkaline buffer show the highest luminescence intensity, and the QDs in a buffer with a pH=3.0 show the luminescence intensity decreased by 5-10 times, the PL band maximum shifted to the long-wavelength spectral region by 35 nm, and the luminescence relaxation time decreased for smaller QDs and increased for larger QDs. It is revealed that the attachment of MP-SH oligonucleotides to the QDs results in an up to 2-fold increase of luminescence intensity and an up to 2-fold increase of luminescence relaxation time. It is found that the photostability of QDs dependens weakly on the acidity of the solution and the addition of oligonucleotides, and is determined by the substances used for QD stabilization. It is demonstrated that the QDs stabilized with mercaptoacetic acid and gelatin show the highest photostability. Projected assumptions about the development of the research object are the improvement of the methods of synthesis of nanocrystals with intense photoluminescence in a visible spectral range for biological applications.
