Object of study - activities in the field of customs control, is associated with the functioning of the risk management system. The purpose of the work is the development of scientifically based proposals on the formation of a monitoring mechanism for the application of a risk management system in the field of customs control. Research methods - the method of synthesis and analysis, generalization, comparison, abstraction, the historical method, dialectical knowledge (to form the theoretical basis of the study); systemic and integrated approaches. The scientific novelty of the work is to generalize the historical aspects of the development of the risk management system in Ukraine; systematization of international approaches and recommendations for building a risk management system in the field of customs control; substantiation of proposals for the construction of an effective mechanism for monitoring the application of the risk management system in the field of customs control. According to the terms of reference, the concept of riskiness in customs is disclosed and the need to minimize risks in the process of customs clearance and control is proved; the risk management system in the context of ensuring the selectivity of customs control and the evolution of the customs risk management system in Ukraine are investigated; the domestic regulatory framework in the field of risk management is characterized; foreign approaches and recommendations on the construction of a risk management system in the field of customs control are analyzed and the directions for their adaptation to Ukrainian practice are identified; the foundations of the formation of a mechanism for monitoring the application of the risk management system are described and technical requirements for the construction of an integrated monitoring system for the application of risk management tools are formed.
