The object of the study is the sediments and landforms of aeolian and fluvial genesis, including key sections of covering and terrace strata, relict dunes, etc. There are consistently considered the following major issues in research: theoretical and methodological basis of the study, comprehensive analysis of key sections and landforms of fluvial and aeolian genesis that is aimed at determining the stage of their development, features of distribution and development of relict aeolian forms and structure and formation of the Pleistocene terrace complex of the main rivers of the western region of Ukraine. The theoretical, methodological and factual basis of these components of the study became the basis for the substantiation of conceptual models of the evolution of fluvial and aeolian morpholithogenesis. As a result of research, a geoprotective and geotouristic assessment of the most important outcrops and landforms for the purposes of forming a network of protected sites and geoparks has been made.
