The researchers systematized and investigated using a number of anthropological techniques (craniology, osteology, paleodemography, paleopathology) numerous materials from burials of a wide chronological range (X millennium BC - II millennium BC), which were discovered in Ukraine in recent years and in previous times. One of the important components of this work is research that was carried out on the basis of the latest techniques (analysis of stable isotopes, archeogenetics) and was integrated into international scientific projects in collaboration with leading foreign universities and laboratories in Europe and the USA. Most sections are devoted to elucidating the origin of anthropological types of carriers of numerous cultures of the territory of Ukraine and their genetic relationships with the population of neighboring territories of Eastern Europe. They traced important stages of the anthropological history of the population of Ukraine, investigated the degree of morphological homogeneity and the main directions of anthropological connections in ethnogenetic processes, highlighted the features of the demographic structure of paleopopulations. A number of sections present the results of a study of paleo-diets, food strategies, and genetic polymorphism in ancient populations of the Middle and Lower Dnieper. The sections devoted to the study of markers of occupational stress, reconstruction of physical activity and professional activity, as well as diseases and injuries in representatives of cultures of the Bronze, Iron Age and Middle Ages deserve attention. The important sections are those that describe the methodological methods and prospects for the study of ancient cremations from burials on the territory of Ukraine, as well as the methods of statistical analysis of anthropological data.
