THERMOCOUPLES, THERMOELECTRIC CONVERTERS, STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS, THERMOELECTRIC MATERIALS, PHYSICAL MODEL, COMPUTER SIMULATION , THERMOEMF The object of research is measuring of the thermoelectric energy conversion of AC signals in a wide range of frequencies (from 1 MHz to 30 MHz) and an arbitrary waveform in thermoeEMF of direct current. The purpose of the work is the development of semiconductor thermoelectric AC converters, whose properties correspond to the requirements of the primary State Standard for electric voltage in the radio frequency range of 1-30 MHz. Research methods are the methods of thermodynamics of irreversible processes as applied to thermoelectric energy converters up to determination of temperature and thermal fields and potential in thermoelectric media, optimization methods for thermocouple constructions using computer technologies of multifactor modeling and object-oriented simulation. The choice was validated, the physical model of the thermal converter (TC) was developed and studied for both stationary and non-stationary operation modes. The basic elements of the theory of semiconductor thermal converters were considered. The influence of physical phenomena, effects, and processes affecting the parameters and characteristics of thermal converters (the Thomson and Peltier effects, temperature distribution, the influence of the frequency range of voltages, etc.) was investigated. The main factors affecting the efficiency of TC were studied. In particular, the temperature distribution along the length of the heater was studied as well as the influence of a thermocouple through its heat conductivity and heat exchange with the ambient on the temperature distribution in the heater. It is shown that the heat of the heater can be used to its maximum efficiently in a vacuum case, or a TC case filled with gas with low thermal conductivity. The possibility of creating such a heater design, which would ensure maximum heat generation at the contact point of the junction of the thermocouple and heater, was investigated. In particular, a variant of the structural design of the heater with variable resistance along its length was considered. The possibility of using a heater with a variable resistance along the length of the heater was theoretically confirmed, which will allow increasing the temperature at the point of contact between the heater and the thermocouple junction about twofold. To optimize the thermoelectric material for TС, the nature of chemical bonds in Bi2Te3 crystals was studied. A device for cleaning semiconductor material for TС has been created. Variants of the proposed designs of thermal converters with increased sensitivity and methods for their manufacture were considered. The manufacturing technology of miniature structural elements of TС and experimental samples of TС based on them was improved. A method and an electronic device were developed to protect the TС from electrical overloads. Some novel TC designs were proposed. A batch of TC, the parameters of which exceed those of the known analogues was manufactured and investigated, The validity of the methods for evaluating the electrical, thermal and structural features of the TC intended for use in creating the State Standard for alternating voltage was confirmed.
