The development of implants was carried out using biocompatible materials. The developed implants accelerated the natural regeneration of nerve tissue without disturbing the biological balance in the metabolism. The results of preclinical tests showed that the restoration of severe damage to the sciatic nerve by defect plasty with a tubular implant with longitudinally oriented silicon nanowires is observed at 12 weeks after surgery. The quality of restoration of the nerve trunk, when using the developed implant with silicon nanowires, coincided with the quality of restoration using the autoplasty method, the so-called "gold standard" method. However, since the latter requires the denervation of another part of the nerve, the effectiveness of the developed technique for nerve regeneration exceeds the effectiveness of the "gold standard".
