The purpose is to select valuable genotypes of Sorghum saccharatum (L.) Moench) and to improve the strains producing biobutanol for enhancing the yield of liquid fuel components. The subject of research is the genotypes of sugar sorghum (Sorghum saccharatum (L.) Moench) and new strains producing biobutanol. When performing research, general scientific and special research methods were used. The more productive forms and varieties of Sorghum saccharatum (L.) Moench) are distinguished by their yield, dry matter content, sugars, and energy value of phytosupply during the technical maturity (flowering and waxy ripeness). The most valuable genotypes of Sorghum saccharatum (L.) Moench) were selected as initial forms, the composition of sugars of juice samples was determined and their suitability for fermentation into components of liquid fuels (biobutanol) was analyzed. High-performance genotypes with high sugar content were created and put into production. Quantitative estimation of the yield of components of liquid fuels is carried out. An energy assessment of the potential of plants and biofuels has been provided. 4 genotypes of Sorghum saccharatum (L.) Moench) were selected as promising substrates for the production of butanol. The possibility of using phytosupplies of all 4 genotypes of Sorghum saccharatum (L.) Moench) for the accumulation of butanol without degradation of strains was shown. It was found that using biomass of two genotypes of Sorghum saccharatum (L.) Moench) (Energodar, Amber-1), the producer strain accumulated the most butanol (5 g / l). The results obtained are original and better than existing analogues in Ukraine. Published 8 scientific papers. Pass the qualification examination of 2 varieties of sorghum sugar Botanical (application number 10472003) and Energodar (application number 13241005).
