The aim of the research was to improve the treatment of patients with congenital vascular malformations of the head and neck by improving and developing new methods of surgical and interventional techniques. Clinical material consisted of 95 patients with congenital vascular malformations of the head and neck. The patients age was between 4 and 68 years. Distribution by type of malformations: arteriovenous - 37; capillary - 31; venous - 22; lymphatic - 5. Research methods: laboratory, ultrasound, radiological (angiography, CT, MRI), pathomorphological, statistical. The investigation studies the features of the pathogenesis and hemodynamics of vascular malformations of the head and neck. The informative value of instrumental research methods (ultrasound, arteriography, computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging) was determined and a diagnostic algorithm was developed to determine the type of malformation. Blood flow parameters were studied and analyzed for various forms of vascular malformations of the head and neck, pathomorphological changes in soft tissues and blood vessels in various forms of the disease were investigated. The features of the hemostatic system in various forms of malformations were studied and methods for its correction were developed. A differentiated approach to the selection of the optimal method of treating patients with various forms of congenital vascular malformations of the head and neck has been developed and justified. Methods for closing tissue defects after removal of congenital vascular malformations have been developed and improved, depending on the location and size of the pathological focus. The results obtained made it possible to individualize the treatment plan for such patients, to optimize them as much as possible: to combine it with surgical, X-ray, vascular, scleroobliteration and conservative treatment methods, which contributed to a faster recovery and really improved quality of life of treated patients.
