The purpose of the work is to develop scientifically based criteria of life activity limitation and basic rehabilitation programs for diabetes mellitus complicated by heart and blood vessels pathology. Novelty: were refined epidemiological data on primary and accumulated disability due to diabetes, complicated by heart and blood vessels pathology in 2016-2017 in Ukraine; the main causes and leading pathogenetic factors of the progression life limitations in people with disabilities due to the complicated diabetes have been determined; the clinical, functional, personality and psychological characteristics of persons with disabilities were identified; pathogenetically substantiated differentiated measures of medical rehabilitation, the assessment criteria of the rehabilitation potential and clinical and rehabilitation prognosis for persons with disability, the performance criteria of undertaken rehabilitation activities have been developed; proposed an assessment the degree of systemic inflammatory response syndrome, which allowed pathogenetically justify a new approach for determining of surgical treatment volume; a new method of healing the extensive soft tissue defects in patients with purulent and necrotic complications of diabetic foot syndrome after surgical resection was developed and implemented (patent for a useful model of Ukraine).
