The purpose of the work is improvement of production technology of zirconia products stabilized by Y2O3. The research methods are standard methods for research of chemical composition and physical-ceramic properties of refractories, petrographic and X-ray methods. The influence of new modern plasticizing additive on the apparent density of freshly formed and dried samples of fused ZrO2 stabilized by ~ 10 % Y2O3, and on the main properties of these samples after firing at a temperature of 1580 °C was investigated. It has been established that, the using this plasticizing additive ensures obtaining the indicated refractories with high rates of properties. As a result of the carried out researches, the production technology of products manufacturing by semi-dry pressing method of fused ZrO2 stabilized with ~ 10 % Y2O3 is improved. This technology ensures obtaining of refractories with high characteristics, which are not inferior in terms of open porosity and apparent density, but in terms of cold crushing strength by 21 % higher than this indicator of products that are currently manufactured. The use of refractories characterized by higher performance properties will extend their service life and therefore ensure longer operation of high-temperature installations. In accordance with the terms of agreements concluded with consumers, in JSC "URIR named after A.S. Berezhnoy" the pilot batches of refractory products of zirconia stabilized with yttrium oxide in the form of a cover of 2 standard sizes, a cylinder of 4 standard sizes, a crucible of 1 standard size, as well as refractory products of zirconia stabilized by CaO in the form of a vibratory crucible of 1 standard size, were manufactured. The made refractory products were characterized by properties that meet the requirements of TU and delivered to the consumers on the domestic and foreign (export to the Republic of Belarus) market. The work should be continued in the direction mastering of the advanced production technology of zirconia products stabilized by ~ 10 % Y2O3, as well as the further improvement of the production technology of products from stabilized zirconium, and expansion of their production and use.
