The content and structure of the visual inspection area as well as the machine-readable area are described, information on the personalization of this type of documents is outlined. The section "Contactless electronic media" describes in sufficient detail the contents of the information recorded on the chip and how to read it. On the basis of the information presented in the research work, as well as the results of generalization of scientific and technical, information sources, a unified methodical approach and an algorithm for solving the question on compliance of the examined ID-1 passports with the established samples were proposed.
