The object of research is the safe long-term storage of metal-tritium products. The aim of scientific research is to carry out a number of laboratory studies that will make it possible to create effective catalysts-sorbents and barrier coatings or multilayer systems for the decomposition products of tritium structures during long-term storage. The relevance and importance of the work lies in the fact that its results can be used in activities related to environmental protection, when creating various barriers that will prevent or stop the penetration of tritium outside the storage of radioactive materials, as well as improve measures to protect the environment and people when working with tritium and its compounds. The importance of the work is also confirmed by the fact that there are a number of facilities in Ukraine where radioactive materials containing tritium are stored. Most of these objects are nearing the end of their service life or have already expired. Therefore, it is important to study and create effective sorbent catalysts and barrier coatings or multilayer systems for the decomposition products of tritium structures under conditions of long-term storage. Research method - theoretical calculations and experimental research. According to the results of the second stage of R&D, 1 article was published, 3 reports were made at conferences. R&D results can be used by scientists and engineers involved in the development of new technologies to reduce the penetration of artificial tritium from problem areas into the environment. Predictive assumptions for the development of the object of research - the results of theoretical and experimental studies can become a fundamental basis for the development of technologies for safe long-term storage of radioactive materials containing tritium.
