It was found that under laboratory conditions and on plants, these antagonistic microorganisms actively suppress pathogenic agrobacteria. Moreover, it was proved by real-time PCR that pathogens and their antagonists are able to coexist in one ecological niche (flowers and green grapes). Antagonists of Alcaligenes faecalis and Lactobacillus plantarum have been shown to inhibit the attachment and survival of phytopathogenic A. tumefaciens pJZ on the surfaces and tissues of test plants, completely eliminate the pathogen population, or reduce its density. For lactobacilli, the ability to atenuate the pathogenic properties of agrobacteria in plants was first shown. In the process of research, it was proved that antagonists of the genera Alcaligenes and Lactobacillus are able to form mixed biofilms with phytopathogenic agrobacteria, while phytopathogens lost the ability to cause disease and turned into a persistent state. The possibility of using P. agglomerans as a universal indicator model for enriching the minor component of the phage population and searching for bacteriophages active in relation to the main pathogens of E. amylovora and A. vitis is proved. The work showed that bacteriophages that infect P. agglomerans are polyvalent and can infect phytopathogens. It has been established that phage isolates from plants affected by phytopathogens are heterogeneous. For the first time, fundamentally new approaches were used using the chromatographic method of separation of phage populations (DEAE cellulose and LPLC chromatography), as well as the preparation and use of a set of phage mutants (R variants) resistant to prevailing bacteriophages in the population and identifying new minor bacteriophages in this populations.
