Registration Date 29-01-2020 Organization Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics NASU popup.description2 To clarify the mechanisms for increasing the efficiency of regulation of photosynthesis under changing environmental conditions, we studied the features of the deepoxidation state of xanthophyll cycle of chloroplasts in two winter wheat varieties with different drought tolerance. It was shown that soil drought increased the degree of deepoxidation of pigments of this cycle by 14-15% in both varieties. It was found that the level of deepoxidation of pigments of the xanthophyll cycle of the drought resistant variety Astarta was lower than that of the less resistant variety Natalka under optimal moisture supply, as well as under drought conditions. A lower level of de-oxidation indicates a high efficiency of light energy use in the process of photosynthesis in a more productive and resistant variety Astarta than in variety Natalka. A study of the parameters of chlorophyll fluorescence induction and low-temperature fluorescence indices showed that resistant varieties of winter wheat under drought conditions preserve better the structure and functional activity of photosystem II. In drought tolerant varieties under conditions of water deficiency, a connection between the activity of PS II and the content of a protease inhibitor was revealed. In order to develop methods for increasing the efficiency of control of cereal weeds, the feasibility of adding adjuvants to working solutions of graminicides was studied. It was shown that the addition of adjuvant ElectronTM accelerated the development of the phytotoxic effect of graminicides from the class of derivatives AOFPK Fusilade Forte and Agil. The most significant acceleration in the development of the phytotoxic effect of graminicides due to the addition of the adjuvant Electron ™ was observed under drought conditions, however, in some cases, when used together, the effectiveness of control of cereal weeds increased. It was found that the combined use of graminicides with adjuvant Electron ™ does not guaranteed to reduce the rate of application of graminicides.
