The purpose of this work is to obtain dispersed heterophase structures, including quasicrystalline structures, in surface layers of aluminum, titanium and zirconium alloys by laser alloying and laser melting of the surfaces, in order to build the physical picture of its formation under conditions of non-equilibrium melt crystallization, as well as to develop new method of modeling the structure of quasicrystalline phases. X-ray (DRON-3, DRON-3M), durometric (PMT-3) and metallographic (MIM-8, Epiquant, Axiovert 40 MAT) methods were used in the work. Structural and phase state of surface layers of industrial titanium alloy VT1-0 after laser alloying with iron, cobalt, and nickel powders were investigated by x-ray diffraction phase and metallographic analyzes. It has been researched the effect of laser treatment environment of Zr-Nb zirconium alloy samples on its structural and phase state. The regularities of the effect of laser thermal treatment and low-temperature thermal cycling on structural state and microhardness of surface layers of quasicrystalline aluminum-based alloys have been established. The structure and properties of surface layers of titanium samples during laser alloying with transition metals deposited on the surface by electrolysis have been investigated. It were determined optimal parameters of the processes of electrolytic deposition of metal layer on samples surface. Parameters of laser radiation were optimized to achieve the certain structural state. It has been developed the method for modeling of reciprocal lattices of quasicrystals with various type of rotational symmetry. Obtained results can be used in the development of technologies for increasing the wear resistance of parts made of titanium and aluminum alloys as well as in the analysis of materials containing quasicrystalline phases. Application areas are metallurgy, aviation, mechanical engineering.
