The prevalence and age structure of neuroinfection diseases of different etiology in the Lviv region are investigated. It was found that bacterial purulent meningitis most often affected children of younger age groups. A direct correlation between the level of air pollution and the incidence of neuroinfection has been proved. The strains of opportunistic microorganisms, the factors of secondary neuroinfection, have been isolated and identified. The peculiarities of microcenosis of the mucous membranes of the nasopharynx and intestines in patients hospitalized with a preliminary diagnosis of "neuroninfection" and their contact persons were determined; the prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacterial isolates in these groups was confirmed. A new method of microcenosis correction for individuals at risk in the development of neuroinfection has been developed.
