A purpose of research is determination of quantitative descriptions of the extreme weather phenomena and their tendencies in the modern and future climatic conditions. Research methods are physic and statistic analysis, frequency and temporal analysis of meteorological data, aerosynoptic analysis, numeral modeling. The spatiotemporal distribution and meteorological characteristics of the hot and dry winds, droughts, heavy precipitation on territory of Ukraine in a modern period 1995-2015 are considered. The forms of macrocirculation of the atmosphere and synoptic processes in Europe under influence of which there are the extreme droughty phenomena and precipitation are defined. The displacement of position of the polar front branches in a cold period toward the north and rapprochement them in the warm period is found that resulted to the changes of moving trajectories of extratropical cyclones and anticyclones. The modeling of moving process of the air masses in which hot and dry winds are formed showed that there are adiabatic and advective changes of temperature and humidity, which result in the total warming and drying of air mass. Estimation of dynamics of vegetation conditions in the south areas of Ukraine showed that the spring came early with every year and droughts are more frequently observed in August-September. In a short-term perspective up to 2050 within climate scenario RTK8.5 increase of duration of dry periods are expected under simultaneous growth of precipitation intensity. he obtained results update the reference and climatic information on drought phenomena and precipitation, which is used in hydrometeorological services of the Ukrainian economy and is necessary in the development of new methods for predicting these phenomena.
